81,000 acres of the North Fork of the Blackfoot and Monture Creek drainages would be incorporated into the Bob Marshal wilderness to the north and Scapegoat Wilderness to the east. This entire area provides unsurpassed elk, mule deer, lynx, and bear habitat. This area also represents true western wilderness, with 110 miles of mountain pack trails, and six mountain passes heading into the interior of the Bob Marshall Complex. The U.S. Forest Service describes the landscape as “an area of extremely high wilderness value” which the Lolo Forest has long recommended for inclusion.
